1992 in 2020: The Dismantling of the OLF by a Political Engineer

The Oromo Liberation Front was founded in 1974 to end the colonial oppression imposed on the Oromo people by the Amhara and enable them exercise their right to self-determination. Unfortunately, the front has encountered series of ups and downs. On the one hand, it had to fight against the enemy armed to its teeth. On the other hand, it had to deal with internal saboteurs (traitors) who caused more harm to the cause than the enemy could alone. These saboteurs paralyzed the front’s effectiveness by threatening the unity of the front and also acting as agents for the enemy. Consequently, even with full support of its people, the OLF was unable to lead the Oromo to full independence. Treason and sabotage are threatening the fate of the OLF today more than at any time in its history.

In June 1991, I was one of the Oromo’s who lined up along the main street in Finfinnee to welcome the delegation of the Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) led by Lencho Lata. In his address to the crowd, Lencho said, “we came to claim our land which Minilik took by force. If this does not work out, we will go back to the jungle – Lafa keenya Minilik nurraa fudhate falmachuu dhufne. Yoo ta’uu baate bosonatti deebina. (The statement is not quoted verbatim, but this is exactly what he said.)  Lencho led the OLF delegation in the July Conference and became the front’s point man until it was forced out of the Transitional Government in June 1992. This short participation in the Transitional Government, apparently representing the OLF, brought Lencho to closer relationship with Meles Zenawi, the leader of the Tigre People’s Liberation Front – TPLF, who was president of the Transitional Government. By getting closer to Meles, Lencho shaped his own political future that, after twenty-six years, landed him in Menilek’s palace under Minilik’s great grand-son, Abiy Ahmed. After leaving the Transitional Government, Lencho moved to Canada from where he tirelessly engaged in dissecting the OLF into pieces. In 1998, he succeeded in sucking from behind the then Secretary General, Galaasaa Dilbo, whom he replaced by the current OLF chairman, Daawud Ibsaa. He did not stop with that and continued with his endless act of protozoa-like multiplication of the OLF. In 2005, he split from Daawud’s OLF and created what he called Oromo Democratic Forum, then Jijirama, then THIS, then THAT, and … and finally the Oromo Democratic Front which he happily handed to Abiy Ahmad – a gift to Comrade Napoleon.

The other OLF wing called Qaama Cehumsa continued under Galaasaa Dilbo. This wing arguably defended the original program that the front adopted when it was founded in 1974. Although it included such high caliber and honest people like Obbo Ibsaa Guutamaa, this wing went into obscurity.

Leencho continued with his intrigues and unashamedly turned the OLF-Shane (Daawud) and OLF-QC (Galaasaa) against one another to the extent of taking each other to court in the United States. He openly asked Meles Zenawi to allow him to return but Meles demanded to return in the name of OLF not in the name the ODF. In 2017, without getting permission, he flew to Ethiopia with members of his group but was declared persona non grata (ofiin dhufiin marcumni hin ga’hu) in and returned to Norway with shame. A member of his team, Lencho Bati, is currently Abiy Amhed’s adviser while and the rest are in hiding because of shame.

Of the three OLF groups, Daawud’s Shanee continued to reverberate in the hearts of millions of Oromos because it kept hope alive. Being in Asmara, at least it found a listening ear from Isayas Afaworki who wanted to use them against his archenemy, Meles Zenawi. Isayas allowed Daawd to train some combatants on Eritrea’s ground. With the diminishing influence of Lencho, this group quickly moved back to the original platform of the organization which the vast majority of the Oromo support. Lencho, did not like the growing popularity of the Daawud group and arrived early in Finfinnee as soon as Minilik’s grandson assumed the premiership. To his disappointment, he did not get a hero’s welcome because the Oromo people already knew the sabotages he has been doing to the Oromo struggle. He and his team quickly joined the Abiy camp. Lencho Bati and Dima Nago became Abiy’s advisors whose names the prime minister is proud of mentioning publicly as exemplary members of opposition parties working with him. In 2019, Lencho’s ODF openly declared joining the OPDO.

By working closely with Meles, Lencho started the process of splitting the OLF which he did in 1998. By working closely with Abiy in 2018, Lencho started to finish what he started twenty-six years ago. Lencho knew that the Oromo people rejected him because of his malicious acts on the OLF and cooperation with the enemy. His hopelessness and total rejection became a reality when six million Oromos marched on Finfinnee to welcome Daawud in September 2018. Lencho then went back to his 1998 workbook when he split the OLF into two and he began to apply the same to the OLF currently chaired by Daawud. That is why we are back to ground zero in our struggle that the OLF has been leading since 1974. Shame on those OLF leaders who were in Asmara for twenty years to finally come to this point. You did not have to go to Asmara to join the Ethiopian government. You did not have to waste your time. This also applies to Lencho and his group who now work for the Ethiopian government. You also wasted your thirty-some years; and, please understand that your brother did not die to enable you what you do now. Your brother died for all Oromos. Please, don’t swear in the name of your martyred brother. For Lencho Lata, 2018 is his 1992 and 2020 is his 1998.

What should be done

1. TO THE SABOTEURS: Those who are being advised by Lencho to overthrow Daawud Ibsaa should know that the Oromo struggle for complete independence will continue. As Lencho’s (now your godfather) protozoazation of OLF did not stop the struggle before, your sabotage and betrayal will rather solidify our determination to move forward.
2. TO OUR QEERROO: You toppled the TPLF in 2018 when the OLF was not here. You have to continue the struggle and the journey to victory without getting distracted by the act of these saboteurs.
3. JAAL DAAWUD IBSAA: No one is perfect. Stay calm, no matter what happens. You have to be proud of yourself for rescuing our “Golden Stool” and saving it from barrage of attacks from Lencho Lata. You saved the Oromo flag, brought it back and gave it back to the owners, the Oromo people who will take care of it. You took a single alaabaa with you when you left and, because of you, there are forty million alaabaas in the homes of the Oromo today. You kept the struggle alive and that is how history will remember you.
4. TO JAAL MARRO AND JAAL GOLICHAA DHEENGEE: Now is the time for you to take a decisive and historic step. Take over the OLF and declare that YOU ARE THE OLF. If you don’t do this, Abiy Ahmad will declare the destruction of the OLF – a front that has been in existence since 1974. Please keep in mind that the destruction of the OLF is one of the assignments the Amhara gave to their fellow Nafxanya, Abiy.
5. TO THE OROMO PEOPLE: You should keep in mind that this is another sabotage in a series of many in many years and you should not be demoralized by the news of Lencho’s dismantling of Shane. Lencho has proved in hundreds of occasions that he is not on your side. Anyone who works with Abiy Ahmad is Abiy Ahmad himself. And you know what Abiy Ahmad is doing to the Oromo people. He killed more Oromos in his two-year tenure than TPLF in its twenty-seven years and don’t forget that Lencho is Abyis’ advisor in all this. Now, more than ever, you know your enemy.

Opposition Figures Held Without Charge

–Ethiopian authorities have been detaining dozens of opposition members and journalists for prolonged periods and often without charge since late June 2020, raising serious rights concerns.

A month after one of the most violent spates of unrest in the country’s recent history, police and prosecutors need to publicly account for all detainees’ whereabouts, comply promptly and fully with court bail orders, and ensure easy and regular access to lawyers and relatives for those not released.

“The actions of Ethiopia’s investigative authorities raise concerns that they have not moved on from past practices of arresting first, and investigating later,” said Laetitia Bader, Horn of Africa director at Human Rights Watch. “The authorities should promptly bring credible charges based on clear facts and evidence against the detainees or ensure their release.”

The arrests follow the June 29 killing of a popular Oromo artist and activist, Hachalu Hundessa, in Addis Ababa, the capital. Hachalu’s death triggered unrest and violence in several towns, particularly in the Oromia region, and left at least 178 people dead from both civilians and law enforcement. Some were mourners and protesters, killed by security forces when they opened lethal fire. Attacks on mainly ethnic and religious minority communities in Oromia also resulted in killings, massive property destruction, and displacement.

Human Rights Watch interviews with lawyers, relatives, and people released from detention found that detentions and investigations have been marred by serious due process violations.

Oromia police authorities withheld the whereabouts of several Oromo Liberation Front members from their lawyers and relatives for over a month and denied access to both even after lawyers discovered where they were held, Human Rights Watch found. Refusal to disclose the whereabouts or fate of someone in detention constitutes an enforced disappearance, a serious violation of human rights, a crime under international law, and prohibited in all circumstances.

Dictatorship in the Making! PP

PM Abiy Ahmed just removed Defense Minister Lemma Megersa, Tayiba Hasan, and Milkeessa Midaksa – individuals who played a decisive role in the struggle that paved the way for Abiy’s premiership, from the ruling party. Lemma Megersa literally put Abiy first & Abiy turned against Lemma shortly after assuming power and long before Lemma knew what was going on.

Teyiba Hassan is one of the first OPDO's to have spoken against the regime in no uncertain terms. I still remember her address when she visited Oromos displaced from the Somali region.

Shortly after assuming power, Abiy used his newfound power, the yes-men within the then OPDO, and the rent that comes with state power to marginalize individuals he saw as a threat to his vision of resurrecting the inglorious reactionary feudal state and his ambition to become, well, the 7th King. In fact, while telling the public that Lemma is "the brother who leads him in secret", he was working to render him irrelevant.

This PM is so delusional and spiteful that his grandiosity and messiah complex, along with his neo-neftegna enablers, now represent the greatest danger to the future of the Ethiopian state. He is full of certitude (considerably religious) but zero sense of history, and the resilience of structural forces. The country is already tethering on the brink and it is only a matter of time before it plunges into its depths. #justice

How has the name #Qeerroo been used politically ?

How has the name #Qeerroo been used politically and what makes it difficult to understand who #Qeerroo is in today's context?

1. # Qeerroo (natural and original name)

2. # QeerrooGanamaa (political name of the first youth movement that joined the OLF in the early 1970s

3. #FDG (Revolt against subjugation and oppressive regime organized by young people (mainly high school and university students who were actively involved under the leadership of the OLF in 2004/5 _2007)

4. # QeerrooBilisummaaOromo (Oromo youth movement for Freedom and Democracy organized and mobilized by the OLF from 2011 to today).

So many similar names have been used during the #OromoProtests to divide the Oromo youth movement.

The name #Qeerroo or #QeerrooOromoo, sometimes promoted by activists and sometimes by those in power (intentionally to destroy the power of #QeerrooBilisummaaOromo by using different names such as;- #Qeerroo, #QeerrooOromoo, #QeerrooHaaromsa #QeerrooNagayaa and lately in 2017, #Foollee). The reason for naming #Foollee was: - 1) Innocent people, especially those who campaigned for the #Gadaa system and worked hard to restore the weakened #Gadaa system, and 2. The regime and its supporters use this name highly with the evil intention to divide and eliminate the well-organized  #QeerrooBilisummaaOromoo and the spirit of #Oromummaa, #Oromonationalism and Oromo unity. Some of us asked them to refrain from such a wrong policy that would go against the interests of the Oromo nation, but no one listened to us. The grave mistakes they made would be condemned and remembered by the generation to come.

But a few months later, the 'state mafia'- Abiy Ahmed began to divide Oromos and declared #Commandpost over more than 8 zones in western Oromia and southern Oromia. These (activists and their followers) people failed to condemn the power abuse of their "reformist" government. With so much evidence on social media and brutal acts against our people, they hesitated to condemn #Abiy's evil deeds and never said a word about it. We told them that one day the enemy would come to them and that when the time came they could not get anywhere and it was time to speak for our voiceless people.

They did not care, they tried to convince the public that it was the people or the freedom fighter's crime and not the regime's mistake to destroy the peasants' livelihoods and killing people who spoke against the government.

Abiy soldiers murdered innocent people, raped mothers and daughters in their homes and robbed families. At the same time, the truth was distorted by these guys, or their silence had a considerable impact on our people in these critical moments; instead, they preached to our people to be patient for a while, if not their actions against the regime would bring failure 'reform.'

Two weeks after Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn pledged to release jailed politicians, Ethiopia on Wednesday pardoned 115 federal inmates, including top opposition leader, Merera Gudina.
Merera’s release comes as a welcome relief for a country gripped by three years of escalating protests and growing ethnic discord. Merera, an outspoken government critic, is a former Member of Parliament and Addis Ababa University professor. He is also the chairman of Oromo Federalist Congress (OFC), an opposition party that represents Ethiopia’s largest ethnic group, the Oromo.
His release is part of an effort by Ethiopia’s leaders to “create a national consensus and widen the political space”, according to prime minister Hailemariam Desalegn.
Merera has been a fixture in Ethiopia’s politics since the 1960s. The 61-year-old has spent his career building bridges and fighting for democracy in Ethiopia, and his politics transcends party and ethnic divides. In that sense, Merera’s release is a significant first step toward much-needed national healing.
However, it will remain merely symbolic if it is not followed by serious legal and political reforms, as well as the release of all political prisoners and journalists jailed under a slew of repressive legislation.
Nearly all of Merera’s OFC colleagues, including Deputy Chairman Bekele Gerba and Assistant General Secretary Dejene Tafa, are on trial, accused of inciting recent protests in Ethiopia’s Oromia region. The party’s secretary general Bekele Nega has been under house arrest since December 2015. Most of the party’s rank-and-file, as well as district level officers, are also behind bars.
Merera himself was arrested in December 2016 and charged with conspiracy to “dismantle or disrupt social, economic and political activity” after he spoke at the European Parliament criticizing the country’s state of emergency, which had been declared a few months earlier to quell popular protests in the populous Oromia State. Ethiopia lifted the emergency decree ten months later in August 2017 but Merera and the tens of thousands who were caught up in the crackdown remained in jail.
Protests flared up again as soon as authorities lifted the emergency decree because demands for opening up the political space, starting with the release of political prisoners, were left unaddressed. The return of the protests coincided with an internal conflict between the Somali Regional State and the Oromia National State - which killed hundreds and displaced more than 700,000 ethnic Oromos from the Somali region in 2017.The humanitarian crisis remains dire. Tens of thousands of internally displaced people remain in makeshift shelters across the country. Locals in the Bale region, in southern Oromia, are sounding the alarm about mass starvation due to lack of food and other humanitarian aid. The federal government, which is accused by Oromo activists of complicity in the Oromia-Somali conflict, has largely remained on the sidelines.

The ruling Ethiopian People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF), in power since 1991, faces a legitimacy crisis. In its quarter century rule, its leaders have broken reform promises as quickly as they have made them. In 2016, Merera told National Public Radio that EPRDF follows a two-pronged strategy with the country’s opposition. Rhetorically, it claims to be building a multi-party democracy and laments the lack of a vibrant and unified opposition.  However, Merera said, in practise it waits for the opposition to grow legs  - and then cuts them off.
Concerns remain that EPRDF has not departed from this formula, despite the release of some political prisoners. Ethiopian authorities continue to equivocate on the breadth of planned reforms and prisoner releases.
When the story first broke on January 3, local and international media reported that Desalegn has vowed to release “all” political prisoners. Within hours, authorities were in a damage-control mode, telling reporters Ethiopia does not hold any political prisoners.
True, Hailemariam never explicitly admitted to the existence of “political prisoners”. But while vague, his words were clear to everyone, perhaps except his government: Over the past two decades and a half the Ethiopian government has instrumentalized the courts and judiciary to jail and silence critics, real and imagined. There is no precise estimate of the number of political prisoners in Ethiopia, but rights groups say they are in the tens of thousands.
On Tuesday, announcing the latest clemency, Attorney General Getachew Ambaye laid out the preconditions for the release of prisoners. To be eligible for pardons, detainees must show that they did not partake in activities that involved killings and serious injuries to people, damage to major infrastructures, and conspiracy to dismantle the Constitution or the constitutional order, he said.
Meanwhile, officials in the Oromia state, the hotbed of protests since 2014, indicated that no criteria will be attached to the release of dissidents jailed for their political activities.
The disjointed messaging points to growing internal rifts within the EPRDF. Desalegn’s announcement came at the end of 17-day-long high stakes crisis talks by EPRDF leaders in the capital, Addis Ababa.
The meeting was held amid a bitter power struggle among EPRDF member parties. EPRDF is made up of four ethnic-based political organizations: the Tigrayan People’s Liberation Front (TPLF), the Amhara National Democratic Movement (ANDM), the Oromo People’s Democratic Organization (OPDO), and the Southern Ethiopian People’s Democratic Movement. As an authoritarian vanguard party, EPRDF insists that only it can provide stability for continued growth and propel Ethiopia into the league of middle income countries by 2030 - and that muzzling critics and the media and controlling access to information is a requirement to meet that goal. It also requires member parties to adhere to the mother party’s democratic centralism principle, which encourages vigorous internal deliberations but makes a final vote binding upon all members.
Ethnic Oromos and Amharas, who together make up more than 65 percent of the country’s 100 million people, resent the domination of the country’s politics, economy and security sectors by TPLF, the kingmakers in the EPRDF coalition. Under pressure from their constituents, the new leadership of OPDO under Lemma Megersa has embraced the protesters demands. ANDM has also joined OPDO in this regard and the two are now openly challenging TPLF’s hitherto unquestioned hegemony.

Ethiopian government’s attempt to blame the victims (the Oromo people) unravels TPLF’s war plans on Oromo people

 It has now been more than a year since the Ethiopian government, controlled by the Tigrai People Liberation Front (TPLF), clearly and openly declared a war on Oromo people. In addition, the TPLF government has also promoted conflict between the Oromo people and its neighbors, which have lived together in peace, love and mutual respect for decades.


This TPLF orchestrated conflicts has caused a huge crisis on the life, property and overall wellbeing of hundreds-of-thousandth of Oromo people. In fact, the Ethiopian military generals and leaders have planned, trained and deployed the Somali special forces (aka Liyu Police) to carry-out the killings of the Oromo people and destruction of their homes. As a result of this war, hundredthof-thousandth of Oromos were either killed, wounded, their homes and properties were completely destroyed or displaced. While these all heinous acts have been taking place on Oromo farmers, the TPLF government has never had any saying.


The war currently declared on the Oromo people by TPLF and the Somali regional government is a well-researched and planned war for a long time. To make sure that their plans are being executed, first, they disarmed the Oromo farmers and made them defenseless. After they disarmed the Oromo farmers, TPLF ordered their well-trained and armed Liyu police to carry-out the killings, including kids and women, destroying their homes and confiscating their properties.


As one might recall that Oromo Liberation Front (OLF) has exposed the secret plan of TPLF to open war on Oromos from Eastern to all the way to the Southern Oromia border, which covers a
distance of over 1000km. Not only OLF exposed TPLF’s plan, it has also warned those who were playing political games to stop their evil act before it resulted in such a tremendous crisis. We have also pre-informed the secret plan of TPLF to the world community as well as to the Ethiopian people.


The main purpose of TPLF’s current war is to weaken the Oromo, stop the Oromo Youth-led movement for freedom and overall the Oromo people’s struggle for Freedom and justice. In addition, this is a strategy to divert the real demand of the people and maintain their power and continue their exploitation. Therefore, TPLF and their agents are the main actors of these conflicts. Nonetheless, TPLF’s strategy of promoting conflict between the regions will neither bring a shortterm nor a long-term peace to the country as well as to the region.


While conflicts were taking place in the Eastern, South Eastern and Southern Oromia for over a year, the Ethiopian government has never taken any action to resolve the issue. Contrary to this, TPLF government has trained, armed and deployed the Somali region special forces to perpetrate havoc on the Oromo farmers along the border. Though the Oromo People living along the border have requested the government to secure their peace and defend them against the perpetrators, the Ethiopian government instead continues to support Liyu police with military equipment as well as logistics. As a result, over 700,000 Oromos were displaced from their lands and their homes were burned down. The Ethiopian government did not offer any support to these displaced people.

Perhaps, the burden was left to the Oromo people themselves. Similarly, when many Oromo were massacred at Calanqo, Daaroo Labuu at a place called Hawwii Guddinaa and in many more places, we haven’t heard any press release or any condemnation of the perpetrators from the Ethiopian government, further confirming that the life of the Oromo people worth nothing for the Ethiopian government.


Contrary to these war crimes taking place on Oromo people, we have observed when the Ethiopian prime minister, Hailemariya Dessalegn in his December 17, 2017 press statement, trying to make the Oromo people accountable for the crimes that their military force and Liyu police have done. The Prime minister’s attempt to blame the victims here instead of the killer, Liyu police and military forces, is rather disgraceful. The prime minister would have asked himself, before reading his shameful statement, questions such as who started this war? Where was the war started and why? and try to get the answers.


As head of a state, the prime minister should have rather admitted the crisis and assure the people that the perpetrators will be brought to justice. At the same time, he should have also assured the Oromo people that his government will maintain their peace. But the prime minister’s statement was completely the opposite, trying hard to make the Oromo people accountable for the heinous crime done by the Liyu Police. Such Ethiopian government’s betrayal of the Oromo people has been observed on multiple occasions and thus, we should expect neither any justice nor any support from the Ethiopian government.


Therefore; The Oromo people must understand that it is their right to defend themselves from the war currently declared on them from multiple fronts by TPLF government and its agents. While admiring the generous support that the Oromo mass was giving to its fellow citizens, OLF wants to stress that there is no one for Oromo other than Oromo and nothing is more evident for this than what is currently happening in Oromia. Therefore, such support for our people must be strengthened and continue.


OLF also call upon all Oromo in diaspora to feel the pains and the crisis that the Oromo people are going through in Oromia and work hard to expose the evil acts of TPLF to the international community, and also continue to support our people. It is equally important to make sure that the support that you contribute is in fact reaches the people in need.


The Oromo people and the Somali people have lived together for so long without any issues. However, now the Liyu police and the TPLFgovernment are orchestrating a conflict between these people. We want to renew our call to our brotherly Somali people to let work together to thwart the TPLF’s evil plan.


Lastly, trying to blame the Oromo people, victims of the Liyu police, instead of the perpetrators will never solve the problems. Furthermore, the heinous killings and displacement taking place on Oromo people will not stop by simply blaming on the so-called corruption and illegal trading (contraband) that is taking place in the country. These excuses will never let the Ethiopian government be free from accountability. OLF strongly condemns those who are involved in planning, organizing, and commanding the military and Liyu police forces to open war on Oromo people, those who involved in the killings and displacement of peaceful Oromo and the Somali people. 

The Regime army continues to cause death and destruction in Oromia

A few weeks ago, a contingent of the TPLF military were deployed in Hawi Gudina District of West Hararge without the knowledge of the local administration or providing an explanation on the purpose of the deployment to any of the local authorities. Upon their arrival clashes erupted between the Oromo and Somali armed local militia along the border villages of the Hawi Gudina district. The newly deployed military then arrested several officials of the local administration and businessmen. They also forced the Oromia police contingent stationed there to leave the district. They then gathered Somali residents of Gadulo town ( district capital) and instructed them that they were in danger and forcefully placed them in a warehouse facility.

Two days ago, the newly deployed army members have left unannounced, leaving the Somali civilians in the warehouse where they instructed them to stay put. Elders of the area have stopped the military caravan and asked them why they were leaving the Somali civilians after isolating them from the local population and exposing them to danger. The military commander said that they had leave because 'you president [Lemma Megersa] said so and the Somali civilians have refused to leave . The elders asked the commander if they could go to talk to the Somalis at the warehouse and support them. But he warned them not to dare get there.

This morning, Oromo pastoralists who gathered in the village of Buyi to collect food aid that was being distributed have suddenly came under attack from what they believed were are TPLF-military supported by the Liyu Police forces. They overran the place killing many people; the number of causality is yet to be known as the area is still inaccessible.

When the news of these attacks reached Gadulo town, where the Somali civilians were held in warehouse, a man whose brother was killed in Buyi while collecting food aid picked up his gun, and went to the warehouse. He first killed an elderly Oromo woman who tried to stop him on his way, and upon arriving at the warehouse he began to randomly fire on the defenseless Somali civilians, killing several people, the number is not clear yet.

The man was then immediately apprehended by the elders and by the time this information reached me, they were working on their way to hand him over to the authorities. The military has now returned to the districts and is preventing ambulances from passing to the district. Later in the evening over 80 houses were burned down in Tao and about 300 Oromos were taken hostage by a coordinated mission of the TPLF army and the Liyu police. We are hoping they are alive. We plead and pray for their release.

From all these, it is obvious that the TPLF military have planned and prepared the groundwork for this bloodshed. This is meant to justify the military’s intervention in the regional affairs and revive the fast collapsing grip of the TPLF on power.

Sadly innocent civilians are paying the ultimate price. The TPLF is playing with the souls of Oromo and Somali civilians to ensure its grip onto power. Killing of civilians by any force must be condemned in the strongest of terms possible. As TPLF has pulled its last card of instigating a civil war among different ethnic groups, authorities in all regional states' in Ethiopia must beef of their internal security to protect all communities. Oromia regional government in particularly must step up protecting of the diverse communities under its jurisdiction. It must continue to set an example by investigating, apprehending and punishing any and all who are involved in instigating and attacking civilians of any background.
