My view regarding the news on DW " The coalition between OLA and TPLF"

In my view this coalition between OLA and TPLF will definitely expand, it will soon include several forces from the various ethnic communities whose concerns and fears the PP refused to address. All ethnic communities have been threatened with the return of Menelikian Amhara hegemony and the government stands accused of pursuing this objective to the extent that it did not assure them in a credible manner. These communities will join hands with any force, including the TPLF that had controlled and abused power in the past given that TPLF has at least a very clear stand on ethnic rights.

As Oromos, it's very difficult to condemn these political moves (some of us have serious concerns and fears about the coalition with TPLF) given that we have been repeatedly pleading with PP to have some sense of decency and reason; we begged them to refrain from pushing us back to square one:
- We asked justice for Hachalu and freedom for political prisoners. They did not listen, but killed and jailed those who asked these questions.
- We pleaded for rule of law in Oromia and pleaded for end of extrajudical killings
- We begged them to end the media onslaught on our people and the nonstop hate campaign by both mainstream and social media (including publicly funded ones). It looked like a state-sponsored vilification of Oromos as a people
- We asked them to clarify their position in the light of some confusing statements by their senior officials regarding ethnic rights and the constitution that guarantees them. We pointed to Daniel Kibret's (the PM's advisor) declaration of the PM's goal as a reset to where Menelik had stopped and some Amhara PP leaders who said PP's objective was to return Amhara supremacy.
They did not care to address any of our concerns, they instead continued on their destructive course. They didn't respect our people enough to address any single concern. They might address them if they face real threats to their power. The coalition will serve this purpose.
